Hey my name is Montana Stigger. Originally from Westchester, New York I moved to Danbury, Connecticut about 6 years ago. I later moved to Waterbury, Connecticut where I currently live. In high school, I played basketball and ran both cross country and outdoor track. I also created a club in which I encouraged my school and peers to recycle and funded my high school's attempt to go green. Over the past couple of years I have been very active with clubs and sports. My birthday is on December 16th meaning, sadly, I have yet to turn 18 years old. Back home I have no pets, but do own a guitar named Marissa which I do a terrible job at attempting to play. I have two sisters, one older and one younger as well as a younger brother. For about the first thirteen years of my life, I believed I would become a basketball player in the WNBA. This was more of a dream than a reality and after thinking of numerous backup plans, I decided to try to find an occupation which displayed my talents and interests.

I am majoring in architecture and hopefully will be able to minor in philosophy. I chose architecture because I believed it was a good balance between drawing, and math, both of which interest me. In the future I plan to specifically design houses. I want to minor in philosophy because I've been told it accompanies my major well, and the subject itself is one that I am not very educated on but would like to be. After I feel my career in architecture has been complete, or can be less of a priority to me, I plan to go back to school to get a degree in Mathematics, specifically Calculus if possible. With this I would like to be a Calculus teacher to high school juniors.

Over the summer I did the Urban Service Experience (USE) which allowed me to begin my participation in community service at Penn State early. I definitely want to continue such participation starting with Fresh Start this Saturday. Also at USE I met many new people with the same interests as I. But besides them, I am coming to Penn State not knowing anyone due to the fact that no one from my high school ventured too far away from Connecticut for college. After finishing the 5 year architecture program here, I do not intend to go back to Connecticut. I plan to spend a year in Florida, immediately followed by a year in England for reasons I don't know. I also plan to travel at some point in my life. After traveling I will move to California where I can successfully carry out my architecture career and later my career in Mathematics.
